    KEF was founded by Raymond Cooke (1925 - 1995) a former head of the engineering and Technology Department of the UK's BBC Broadcasting Corporation 

   In the mid of 1960s, KEF launched the 5-inch bass / midrange units B110. B110 and T27 was used in the new model Cresta bookshelf type speaker system of KEF, meanwhile, it was also used in the LS3 / 5 speakersof outstanding quality by the BBC. This outdoor broadcast monitors was changed into LS3/5a in 1975. This is undoubtedly that the product was the main achievement produced by the KEF and BBC. This revolutionary product established the standard of "BBC speaker". Since then, LS3/5a has become treasure of music lovers.
