    In 1953, MARANTZ company was founded by Saul B MARANTZ.

    Beginning in the 1960s, Marantz launched its first vacuum tube stereo power amplifier model 8. Similar to the legendary model 2 and model 5, model 8 used exposed electronic tube design and provided exceptional sound quality, power supply partial used silicon rectifier, per channel output power was 30W. In 1961, the power transformer of model 8 was improved, the output power increased 35W and became model 8b amplifier.
